The 2016 NC Latin American Film Festival opens Thursday September 15 with Brazil’s official entry to the Academy Awards, Que hora ela volta? (Second Mother) from director Anna Muylaert. In its 30th Anniversary edition, the festival will also feature films and shorts from Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, and US Latinos/as, highlighting cross-cultural connections between the Andes, Meso-America, and the Amazon.
This year’s festival is organized by The Consortium in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and The Institute for the Study of the Americas.
