Foreign Language Education alumna Ivy Cody was a finalist for the North Carolina Association for Colleges and Teacher Education (NC-ACTE) Student Teacher of the Year award. She was recognized with a certificate and monetary gift at the awards ceremony on September 22.

Ivy was nominated by the College of Education to represent NC State. With a degree in Foreign Language Education in Spanish, she was one of many applicants from universities around the state, and we are proud of her accomplishments. She is currently teaching Spanish at Garner High School.

Ivy’s recognition brings pride to NC State, the College of Education, and the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures‘ Foreign Language Education program led by Karen Tharrington.

As a leader in experiential education, NC State provides relevant opportunities for students to put learning into practice and develop personal and career-ready skills, enabling our students, faculty, staff and alumni to create economic, societal and intellectual prosperity with cutting-edge, solution-driven research, technology and scholarship. Ivy’s achievements are a testament to the effectiveness of the many opportunities offered at NC State.

Congratulations to Ivy!
