Tashni-Ann Dubroy, executive vice president and COO of Howard University, will deliver the 2018 Humanities and Social Sciences Diversity Lecture on Thursday, Feb. 22. Her talk is titled “There Is a Xenophobe Among Us: Diversity and Inclusivity on College Campuses.”

Student of the Month: Olivia Zalecki

Meet Olivia Zalecki, a junior double majoring in Chinese and International Politics and our student of the month. She is a Caldwell Fellow, founder and president of Adopted Students Union at NC State, and has studied abroad in China and England. She aspires to work in government in the area of international relations.

Eleven Humanities and Social Sciences students recently received or were named finalists for prestigious national awards. Recipients of the various scholarships and grants will teach and/or study critical languages abroad during the coming months.
