Fulbright Winner Headed to Mexico

One of seven NC State students to earn a competitive Fulbright grant this year, Emma Cathell will spend 9-10 months teaching English to students at a school or university in Mexico. Cathell's role will also include serving as a cultural ambassador for the United States.

Writers Make Top Sci-Fi, Fantasy List

Five writers from NC State’s MFA in Creative Writing Program are receiving recognition for their work in science fiction and fantasy. Editors of the Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy series selected stories from one MFA student, three alumni and one faculty member to its latest list of notable stories. Fulbright Winner to Explore Passion for Inclusive Learning in Colombia

After double-majoring in psychology and Spanish languages and literatures, recent graduate QuiAnne' Holmes has developed a passion for promoting equity in the classroom. Holmes, who graduated in May, will explore her interests further when she starts a Fulbright teaching assistantship in Colombia later this year.
